Nose
Grand and somewhat old school nose with lots of bitter oranges, honeysweet cherries and a floral touch, drenched in dark caramel syrup. Ginger and liquorice, cinnamon and cloves. Rum raisins, mocha and a hint of chocolate. All the way in the back is a mild note of wood glue, but it works.
Palate
Sweet and sour on cherries, kiwi, grapefruit, oranges, raisins, gooseberries and candied sugar, while the wood keeps it a tad dry. Again spicy, but softer than the nose announced. The sherry cask clearly put its foot down, but when it's this good, one can only cheer.
Finish
Medium long, drying and wonderfully old school.
