Description

Independent bottler Kingsbury Wine & Spirits Co. was founded in Aberdeen in 1989 and incorporated in 1992 by Katsuhiko Tanaka, president of Japanese importer Japan Import System Co. Ltd. Initially much of the stock was sourced from the likes of Cadenhead and Douglas Laing. This Macallan 1993 32 Year Old was matured in a first-fill PX sherry hogshead and bottled by Kingsbury Wine & Spirits Co. as part of their Celtic Series.

Nose
elegant and restrained at first, opening with polished oak, vanilla pod, and waxed orchard fruits. Layers of honeycomb, lemon oil, and toasted coconut develop with time in the glass. Faintest notes of menthol and beeswax.
Palate
immediately opens with orchard fruits, to pear tart, crème anglaise, and toasted almonds. Leading into rich malt, citrus zest, and candle resin. Subtly mineral, with a hint of white pepper.
Finish
long and balanced. Vanilla fudge, barley sugar, and lingering citrus oils finish with more peppery spice.
