Description

A Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey from Michter's, part of their limited release Toasted Barrel Finish series. This expression is made by taking Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Rye at barrel strength and then aging it for an additional period in a second custom barrel. This second barrel is assembled from 24-month air-dried wood and then toasted, not charred, to Michter's specifications, enhancing the spice character of the rye while adding hints of dark toast and smoke. The 2023 release is bottled at barrel strength, with an average proof of 108.9 (54.45% ABV) for the September 2023 release, though individual bottles may vary. It is a no-age-statement (NAS) whiskey, believed to be around 5-6 years old, and is a single barrel product.
