Description

Aged in a first-fill bourbon cask, this 1991-vintage Midleton was chosen by customers at a special tasting held at The Whisky Exchange shop in 2015. Distilled in November, this sister cask to an award-winning bottling from 2012 is rich and mouth coating with notes of vanilla, cinnamon and green peppers.

Vanilla-cream-drizzled fruit salad – apple, pear, grapefruit, mango, banana and more. A touch of linseed-infused tobacco balances with a little menthol, while some succulent fleshy melon, ripe banana and kiwi are given added zest with a twist of lime and crushed blackcurrant leaves. Some vanilla sweetness softens the fruit as the charred oak of the barrel adds to the complexity.
