Description

The 2011 Midleton Very Rare is the twenty-eighth annual release of this prestigious blended Irish whiskey, meticulously hand-selected by Master Distiller Barry Crockett. It is a blend of rare single pot still and single grain Irish whiskies, aged between 12 and 25 years, matured in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels. Each bottle is individually numbered and signed by the Master Distiller, reinforcing its exclusivity and quality. This limited edition release comes in a wooden presentation box.

Rich flinty pot spices, nutty with bitter almond, softening to fruity notes of green apple, apricot, and mandarin orange, set on a foundation of charred oak. Also, sweet honey, vanilla, butterscotch, and toffee.
Palate
Fully mouth-coating pot still spices with a balanced infusion from American oak. Honey sweetness enhances vanilla notes, with apples, apricots, and succulent barley grains appearing. Smooth texture with sweet cream, peppery heat, a hint of mint, yellow and red fruits, quince, gooseberries, and a touch of pineapple.
Finish
Long and luxurious, with full, round, mellow notes. Gentle and drying, clean and elegant, without burn or bitterness. Lingering notes of sweet honey, floral flavors, rich oak, piney flavors, and mellow spiciness.
