Nose
Intense deep sherry, old leather, pipe tobacco, sundried grapes and figs, earthy soil, chicory/coffee mix, plasticine, a little sulfur, loads of dates, sour cherries & Extravecchio Balsamic. Hints of vanilla, raspberry compote and roses.
Palate
Heavy, meaty, coffee, tobacco, maggi sauce, slight metallic twang. Raisins, figs, maraschino cherry, clove, sticky toffee pudding, chestnut honey, cocoa. Sherry oak explosion turning to fruity Turkish delight, gentle citrus and dry spiciness.
Finish
Lingers forever with coffee, dark chocolate, citrus peel, walnut & return of balsamic-like notes and dunnage/old basement edge to the oak. Strong sherry notes, elegantly rounded with a pleasant, lingering spiciness.
