Description
Mothballed by previous owners Whyte & Mackay, Bruichladdich distillery was revived in the year 2000 by independent bottler Murray McDavid. For a long time the distillery was the black sheep of Islay, on account of producing unpeated whisky in order to meet its owner's blending requirements. Contrary to general expectations though, this also made it a hit with the locals who were presumably sick of ... This special release was created for the Islay Festival in 2024 as part of Bruichladdich's festival-themed distillery day 'Rock'ndaal'. It was distilled in 2003 and matured for 20 years on Islay in a combination of bourbon casks (70%) and first-fill Sauternes casks (30%). A limited edition of 1,500 bottles.
