This is a 36-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from the closed Port Ellen distillery on Islay, independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of their Xtra Old Particular (XOP) series. Distilled in September 1979 and bottled in September 2015 from a single refill butt, it is one of only 517 bottles. Port Ellen is renowned for its heavily peated spirit and maritime character.
