Description

This 14-year-old expression from The Singleton Glen Ord Distillery is part of Diageo's Special Releases 2024, often titled “Autumn Walk”. It was matured initially in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, with portions then matured in rejuvenated wine casks and refill casks, before a distinctive finishing touch in specially coopered casks made with European oak bodies and Pyrenean (Spanish) oak ends. Bottled at natural cask strength of 54.7% ABV, it offers a vibrant Highland single malt with orchard-fruit elegance and bold intensity.

Nose
Sweet and rather candied, with vibrant fruity notes of peach and pineapple, hints of grape and cherry, charred woody side with ginger, fresh oak shavings, and toffee. Faint leather and grassy elements.
Palate
Sweet and woody, with grassy oak, pepper, ginger, sweet lemons, orange peels, herbal honey, vanilla custard, and toffee. Citrus (lemon, grapefruit), ripe peach and apricot, sweet liquorice, rhubarb, green apple, vegetable notes, almonds, cinchona, and toasted wood.
Finish
Fairly long and drying, with young oaky profile, plenty of citrus peels and ginger. A little fruit revenge along with ginger, nuts, vegetable and balsamic notes.
