Auchentoshan 24 Years Old The Duchess Shieldmaiden Ylva is a Lowland single malt whisky, triple-distilled and matured for 24 years in a bourbon cask. Bottled in 2014 by independent bottler The Duchess as part of their Shieldmaiden Series, this expression was selected by Luc Timmermans. It is unchillfiltered and bottled at 51.5% ABV. This limited edition release, with only 83 bottles, is known for its delicate and smooth character, balancing the signature triple distillation with the richness of extended maturation.

Soft and gentle vanilla sweetness, dusty oak, straw, milk chocolate, subtle fruits like peach with a whiff of lime, varnished oak, sugared cereals, lemons, unripe pears, greengages, honey, aniseed, floral notes, rose petals, green tea, cigars, tinned fruits (guavas, peaches).

Bitter oak, mild spices (cloves), honey, linseed oil, traces of underripe banana peel and pear, passion fruits, mentholated bananas, grassy teas, leaves, peelings, freshly sawn oak, apple peelings, grapefruits, a slightly bitter tang and chalky edge, mint, aniseed, pepper, toffee, vanilla custard, oak spice.
Finish
Medium length, fruity and leafy, kiwis, gentle yellow fruits, slightly grassy undertone, citrus zest, oak, sweetness.
