Description

An independent bottling of peated Lochindaal single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery, distilled in 2007 and matured for 12 years in a Bourbon barrel (No.7003368) before being bottled in 2020. This is the 2nd Release of Jim McEwan's Private Stock by The Cask Whisperer, yielding 269 bottles at 55.5% ABV. The Cask Whisperer was an independent bottling company founded by Jim McEwan and his wife. Each bottling released under this label was hand-picked.

Sweet smoke, vanilla cream, ash, salt, light caramel, lemon, earth, sea, and animals in pasture; citrus oils, lanolin, mothballs, hints of old tobacco and wispy smoke.
Palate
Medium thick and oily mouthfeel. Glazed old fashioned donut. Poached pears. Raspberries. Cranberries. Bitter smoke. Medium-bodied, citrus and barnyard straw, dried grass, lanolin, camphor, menthol, a touch spirited and peppery.
Finish
Medium finish. Roasty. Sea salt. Earth. Old tobacco. Brambles. Lingering sweet, bitter/ashy fruit sweetness, white pepper tingle, minerals, and a touch of peppery spirit.
