Description
The Bruichladdich The Ternary Project is the first in a series of revitalised small-batch experiments from Bruichladdich Distillery, paying homage to a time in the distillery's past when they distilled many malt types with varying levels of peat. This limited release combines three of Bruichladdich's most recognised single malts: 30% unpeated Bruichladdich, 40% heavily peated Port Charlotte, and 30% super heavily peated Octomore (vintage 2008). These spirits were matured in a complex array of casks, including ex-bourbon hogsheads, French red wine casks, Pedro Ximenez sherry butts from Fernando de Castilla, first-fill bourbon barrels, first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, first-fill virgin oak, Sauternes, French Mourvedres, Austrian Sweet Wines, and ex-Amarone casks. Bottled in 2021 at 52.1% ABV, this non-chill filtered whisky was released as a distillery exclusive with an outturn of 4000 bottles.
