This Caol Ila single malt was distilled in 2008 and matured in a bourbon hogshead for 12 years before being bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 57.9%. The Victim is the sixth and last bottling of the Chess Investigation series, which closes the investigation around the famous Islay distillery, Caol Ila. It brings a soft and slow maturation, letting express all the aromatic richness of this distillery revered by peat lovers. This ageing process gives a peaty and smoky whisky, sublimated by the influence of time. Intense and balanced, this Caol Ila is rich and complex with a lovely long finish.
