Description

Dewar's 12 Year Old is a Blended Scotch Whisky crafted from thirty single malt and grain whiskies, undergoing a signature two-stage aging process, also known as 'double aging', where it is married in oak casks for an additional six months after initial maturation and blending to enhance smoothness and integration. This expression is known for its rich, smooth taste with notes of dried fruit, citrus, and vanilla. It is a core range product, sometimes referred to as 'The Ancestor' or 'Special Reserve'.

Nose
Elegant and rounded with honeycomb, fresh heather, toffee, apple skin, soft spice, and a whisper of smoke. Hints of vanilla, citrus, orchard fruit, sultanas, raisins, and toasted barley with almond and honey.
Palate
Smooth and approachable with buttery caramel, ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, vanilla cream, butterscotch, cereal, and a malty note. Juicy raisins, honey, and aniseed spiciness with a rich, fruity sweetness.
Finish
Gentle and warming, with sweet malt, nutmeg, and oak lingering. A touch of smoke on the tail, melted caramel, and a long, full-flavored, clean fade.
