Description

This is a limited edition release from The Glasgow Distillery Company, featuring their 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2021, this 3-year-old peated whisky was matured in a virgin American white oak barrel before being finished in a French Sauternes barrique. It is part of a series showcasing the distillery's innovative approach to whisky making, is non-chill filtered, and natural in colour. Only 486 individually numbered bottles were produced, making it a distillery exclusive.

Nose
Sweet and smoky, with notes of peanut, creosote, orange zest, umami, nori seaweed, leather polish, farmyard hay, and honey-glazed ham. Earthy and smoky peat aromas dominate, with an ashy, ember-like character developing into a damp and mossy feel, alongside hints of honey, vanilla, and icing sugar.
Palate
Full-bodied and sweet, featuring soft brown sugar, caramel, lemon and orange oil, smoke, peanut brittle, dry rubber, peaches in caramel, suede leather, and honey roast cashews. Initially hot and peppery, with peaty and smoky notes, charcoal, damp earthiness, malted cereals, crisp green apple, sultanas, white chocolate, cinnamon, and icing sugar.
Finish
Long with peat and sweet peanut brittle, smoky with a flash of Sauternes and a touch of malt.
