Nose
Succulent nose on dried flowers, pineapple and mango, but also with a drying element as if from cigar box, potpourri and parsley. Something like sweet, cooked carrots. Nutmeg and cinnamon do their thing. Barely any oak... After a few minutes of air it becomes more fruity, offering sour oranges, honey and a nice hint of dried coconut.
Palate
Good mouth feel. Sweet with a bitterness from the get-go and a little more spicy. White pepper, nutmeg, even some chili. Actually reminds me a bit of rum... Hint of pink grapefruit and Seville oranges. It truly tastes 'old'... Lots of depth. Lovely trace of woodsmoke midpalate…
Finish
Only in the long, feisty finish does it become rather dry. Fades very slowly while I cannot stop smiling and smacking my lips. Delicous. Outstanding with a flabbergasting finish.
