Description

'Jazz Poridge' Distilled at the Glenfarclas distillery on the 25th of February 2014, then matured for 11 years in an ex-Bourbon barrel before being bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. The cask yielded 214 bottles at 60.1% ABV.

Nose
We encountered a lovely and extremely attractive neat aroma full of heather honey, robust maltiness, green pepper, aniseed, pine resin, freshly cut flowers and wafts of tomato vines. Water made everything seem very syrupy and honeyed, with wormwood and camphor notes and some barley sugar.
Palate
We noted eucalyptus, wood resins, mango salsa, sweet liquorice and mint tea with ginger.
Finish
Reduction made it straight-up waxy, with natural malty sweetness, pollens, sweet ales, camphor and menthol balm, and zesty citrus notes.
