Description

This is the second Jack of Clubs release, bottled in 2006. It was distilled in 1991 and matured in a hogshead, then moved into an American oak sherry butt for a second maturation period. This is bottle number 329 of 330. A Japanese malt distillery located in the town of the same name. It developed immense collectable status following its closure in 2000 after the famous 'Card' series was bottled by Ichiro Akuto. This release is presented without chill filtering or added coloring.

Nose
Light but with depth. Dark chocolate, warm and exotic spices, light notes of exotic wood. Very complex! Hints of furniture polish, old leather furniture. Also a hint of something a bit sour, but it works as a spice.
Palate
Oaky, spicy, full-on! After the initial spice attack there is rich, thick honey and caramel (slightly burnt), dried fruits, and an all-round cozy Christmas feeling.
Finish
Almonds, unsalted peanuts in rich caramel sauce. Caramel pudding, the home-made kind. Long and lingering finish.
