Nose
polished chestnut in colour (conkers), the initial nose-feel is very prickly. A dense, fruity top note (cherry sweets?), with light wood notes, and a subtle thread of fragrant smoke in the back. Water opens it up, with maritime scents, marzipan, desiccated coconut and dry peat.
Palate
At natural strength the taste starts sweet and fruity, then dries dramatically; water tames it and makes it more accessible.
