Description
Highland Park remains the most northerly whisky distillery in Scotland, although not by much, as it is little more than a stone's throw from fellow Orcadian, Scapa. Accounts of the distillery's genesis vary, and the truth is probably lost to the mists of time, but it is thought that a local farmer named David Robertson founded what we now know as Highland Park distillery in 1798. This rare Highland Park 1980 Vintage Single Cask No. 8421 is a 21-year-old single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 50.5% ABV. It was distilled on October 16, 1980, and bottled in May 2001 in commemoration of a visit from Maxxium UK to the distillery. Matured in a traditional sherry hogshead, this limited edition release consists of only 252 bottles.
