Description
Established in 2005, Kilchoman (pronounced Kil-ho-man) is Islay's farm distillery. Situated on the rugged west coast of Islay, Kilchoman is the first new distillery on the island for 124 years. Kilchoman gives everyone the chance to see what is best about farm distilling, growing our own barley fields, malting our own barley on a traditional malting floor and using our own barley at every stage of the production process at the distillery - from barley to bottling. This single cask release was distilled on 29.5.2009 and bottled on 29.5.2014. Matured for almost five and a half years, five years in a 100% Islay cask and then finished in a fresh Pedro Ximénez cask for a further maturation. This PX 100% Islay Cask Finish was specially selected and bottled for Whiskyfreunde De Tongerse Whiskyvrienden and Whiskyclub Luxembourg.
