Description

Established in 2009, Kingsbarns is one of Scotland's newer distilleries. Former golf caddie Douglas Clement initially tried to raise funds himself but the project was eventually bought out by Wemyss Distillery Ltd enabling the distillery, along with a visitor centre, to be opened in late 2014. Malty, grassy and a wee bit herbal. Cereal. Oatcakes. Custard creams, apple danish and lemon drizzle cake. Straw. Almond.
Palate
Vanilla fudge. Biscuit. Fresh bread. Apple / apple juice. Warm oaky spice but remarkably gentle for the high strength – a light dusting of cinnamon. Buttered scones and caramel. Nice silky texture.
