Nose
Oily and industrial. Lots of machine shop oil. A bit of prunes. Salt, minerals, wet rocks, and mud. Peat phenols. Burnt caramel. Iron filings, fresh blood. Some orange and cranberry. Smoke and a meaty stink. After opening up for a bit, it does get a bit sweeter, even pick up some vanilla.
Palate
Syrupy thick and mouth coating. At the front of the palate, it's super sharp and intense, then goes through a tart sweetness. The mid-palate is phenolic, orange, bittersweet citrus, artificial grape flavor, and machine oil. On the back end, it becomes earthy. After opening up for a bit it becomes much easier to sip, much less sharp on that initial palate.
Finish
Long finish, full of lemon pith and medicine. Some woody tannins.
