Description

The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old is a balanced single malt whisky created by bringing the perfect harmony of two oaks into one exceptional single malt whisky. Sherry seasoned American oak adds delicate vanilla to the subtle spice of European oak, delivering a whisky with a sweeter, warmer taste and character. This Speyside single malt is aged for a minimum of 15 years in a combination of hand-selected sherry-seasoned European oak and sherry-seasoned American oak casks, with both cask types first filled with Oloroso sherry at cooperages in Jerez, Spain.

Rich and inviting, with aromas of baked apple, ripe pear, and honeycomb lifted by sweet vanilla pod and gentle cinnamon spice. Toasted oak and a lift of citrus zest add depth and brightness, balanced with notes of honey and chocolate.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, opening with stewed fig and raisin before transitioning into creamy toffee and vanilla bean at mid-palate. Warm oak spice, white pepper, and nutmeg build through the peak, balanced by a persistent thread of orchard fruit sweetness. Sweet raisin and sultana with hints of vanilla, wood spice and citrus are also present.
Finish
Medium-to-long and resonant, with lingering butterscotch, chocolate, and smooth dried oak. A subtle raisin sweetness and whisper of cinnamon close out the experience cleanly, turning to caramel and citrus with a creamy mouth feel.
