Description

An old release, non-age statement blend from Nikka, beautifully presented in a white porcelain decanter which celebrates the Year of the Ox. This exquisitely crafted decanter represents a boy resting on the back of a bull, a scene from a famous Japanese literary story. Nikka produced several versions of these bottles in the 1990s.

The oak is there, but it reads as one part of a much fruitier, sweeter set of notes: plummy fruit, caramel and citrus, with ginger and gentle peat in the mix. That makes the oak feel like a supporting thread rather than the main event, which suits this blend’s broader character.
