Description

Founder of the original Lochnagar distillery, James Robertson clearly had a few foes in the business as competitors burned it down and - after Robertson built a new distillery - the second subsequently suffered the same fate. Lochnagar managed to establish a greater amount of luck and success when in 1845, John Begg built his 'New Lochnagar' which gained a rare Royal Warrant only a few years later. This Royal Lochnagar Balmoral is a perfectly balanced medium bodied single malt Scotch whisky with a fresh bouquet of fruit and oak, bottled exclusively for Balmoral Castle and Estate by Royal Lochnagar Distillery.

Medium-bodied, sweet and malty, with an abundance of fresh fruit, creamy butterscotch, oak spice, orange peel, wax, sultana, fig, raisin, bit of raspberry preserve, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, clove.

Medium, white tea, honey, raspberry, sultana, dried currant with honey carrying out the dram.
