This Talisker 8 Year Old is part of Diageo's 2020 Special Releases, a highly-limited expression. It is the first official Talisker to be finished in ex-pot still Caribbean rum casks, adding exotic sweetness to the distillery's characteristic marine scents and peppery punch. Bottled at cask strength, it offers a balanced profile of smoke, fruit, and peppery spice.

Nose
A light nose-feel with sweet and maritime notes, hints of molasses, demerara sugar, wet pebbles, seaweed, soft earthy peat, brine, sandalwood, melted butter, pineapple, lime, green apple peels, olives, and a sugary note.
Palate
Soft, smooth texture with a big taste. Salty and lightly sweet, followed by the full-on Talisker pepperiness. Notes of peat, sweet wood smoke, green-ish soot, olive brine, cloves, salt, charred lemons, vanilla, and green apple.
Finish
Long, hotly peppery and drying, finishing sweet and smoky with the typical Talisker chilli-pepper 'catch'. Notes of white pepper, smoke, charred bacon, baked sea salt, and green chillies.
