It was launched in 2016, with the first Dornoch single malts released in 2021. A distiller and independent bottler, founded in 2013 as the Black Isle Whisky Company by Simon and Philip Thompson. It opened the Dornoch distillery in 2016. This Lowrie's Reserve is a small batch blended Scotch whisky, a blend of Strathclyde single grain from 1994 (28 years old, refill bourbon barrel), Speyside single malt from 2012 (11 years old, bourbon hogshead), blended Scotch from 2012 (10 years old, sherry hogshead), and a small amount of SRV5 with a Campervan Brewery cask finish (ex-Australian Shiraz wine cask). The label is an ode to Jack Lowrie, a blender at Thompson Bros, and his Suzuki Jimny.
