The fifth release in Thompson Bros’ concealed-label Mystery Malt series, combining selected single malts from Scottish distilleries with provenance revealed after opening. The series includes varied maturation styles such as refill sherry hogsheads, Woodford Reserve rye casks and refill bourbon casks.

Caramel, toasted oak, warm baking spices, fresh cream, pecan pie, warm buttered toast, clove, old banana, buttered oats, rye spice, lemon peel, sweet bourbon cask sensations, hints of dried pineapple, creamy malt, sweet biscuits, delicate and distant sherry spices, honeydew melon, faint petrichor/damp earthy aroma.
Palate
Layers of vanilla, honey, rich malt sweetness, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk chocolate truffle, more pecans, creamy toffee, effervescent, bright fruit sweetness, bourbon-esque vanillas, rye spice nip, distillate forward and a bit young, medium mouthfeel with a touch of waxiness, mellow malt, tobacco, damp earth, light sherry oak influence with sweet spices, minuscule amount of Highland peat.
Finish
Long and smooth with lingering oak and spice, elegant long-lasting aftertaste, smooth with a light burn and brilliant spice, short side, decent oily texture and easy clean spirit, medium length, hints of charcoal, liquorice, and pepper.
