Nose
An opening bouquet of cherry blossom and deep red rose gives way to a rainbow of soft ripe red fruits; redcurrant, loganberry, damson, apricot and blackberry crystallised with soft brown sugar. Weird very winey influence, grapes, pine resin, eucalyptus, deep rich sweetness, light citrus notes, anise, plums, berries, floral notes, baking spices, bananas.
Palate
Incredibly dense, thick, and oily mouthfeel. Rich and sweet and weird. Demerara sugar, lots of chocolate, plums, toffee, almonds, macadamia nuts, grape skittles, lemons. A sweet earthy kind of peat but gentle. Creamy, caramel, very strong fruit.
Finish
Medium finish. Settles into an earthy leathery finish. A bit of smoke. More hints of grape wine. Some spice, anise, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, mace. Very long with light tannins.
