Nose
Gentle lactic funk, dark cherries, raisins, prunes, hint of salt, apples, sweet vanilla custard. Sweet sherry, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, lychee, kiwi fruit. Dried fruits like apricots, kiwis, and dates, with sea asparagus and sea buckthorn for a concentrated fruity, tangy, salty aroma; mellow earth and dried grass in the background with a touch of meaty sulfur. [1, 2, 3]
Palate
Rich sweet sherry, orange vanilla custard, frosted berry sweet, light fruit stem bitter, a bit hot. Medium mouthfeel, tingly, sweet with brown sugar, sugar cookies, a bit of farmy funk, vanilla, pudding, orange rind. Oily, concentrated fruits over earth, sea, and dried grass; sea buckthorn, apricot, and plums popped with sea asparagus, earthy cured mushroom, and hints of roasted seaweed; a touch of blow-torched Shoyu and white miso emerged from some slightly sulfurous cask funk. [1, 2, 3]
Finish
Lingering red berry sweet, continued fruity bitterness, buttery, almost waxy. Short, buttery, some bitterness, pepper. Medium to long and meaty with earth and a kiss of salt. [1, 2, 3]
