Description

Daftmill is a small farm distillery in the Lowlands of Scotland, known for its meticulous, small-scale approach and seasonal production using barley grown on its own farm. This particular release, the Daftmill 2006 Single Cask #35, was distilled in the summer of 2006 and bottled in early 2020, making it a 13-year-old single malt. It was matured in an ex-Heaven Hill bourbon barrel and was an exclusive release for The W Club, with only 216 bottles produced.

Nose
Fruity, stone fruits, lemon juice, oranges, incredibly sweet and juicy fruits with honey, malt and caramel. Also light hints of white grape, banana, tinned pineapple, lychee, floral notes, natural vanilla, minty oak, waxy character, lipstick notes, wet chalk, and lemon balm.
Palate
Beautifully sweet nectarines, juicy, followed by hob nob biscuits, malt, charred oak, and some chili spice. Also spicy with pepper and nutmeg, peaches, green bananas, a light chalkiness, creamy latte, hints of coconut, wet cardboard, classic zesty lemon peel, and grapefruit.
Finish
A gradual arrival of light baking spice followed by fresh-cut flowers, orange marmalade, and pencil shavings. Medium length with a slightly raw oaky edge, menthol, and lemon peel.
