Nose
Fresh, fatty, smoky peat with hints of lemon, waxy apple skins, vanilla, cookie dough, and warm apple pie. Also burning leaves, sugared yellow fruits, sweet-smelling sweat, crushed beetle, slightly burned herbs, and a quaint nuttiness. Very balanced and complex.
Palate
Sweet on entry, heavy on licorice, with peat in the background. Sweetness dissipates, leaving herbal fruitiness, prickly licorice, and nuttiness. Deep, dense, soft, and enveloping, with notes of smoke, prunes, and orange marmalade.
Finish
Long, intense, and complex, built around caramel sweetness with a larger role for sour oak. Smoky, citrus, honey, and mineral tones. Coffee and chocolate in the aftertaste.
