Description

This Longrow 26 Year Old is an exclusive bottling for members of the Springbank Society, distilled in December 1998 at Springbank distillery in Campbeltown. It was matured for 23 years in refill Oloroso butts and then finished for a further 3 years in fresh Pedro Ximenez hogsheads, before being bottled in April 2025 at a natural cask strength of 56.1% ABV without colouring or chill-filtration. Longrow is known as the heavily peated single malt produced by Springbank.

Nose
Praline, nougat, maraschino cherries, sticky Chinese ribs, diesel oil and engine grease, dark brown sugar, espresso creme, tobacco leaf, stewed tea leaves, plums, a distant seam of peat smoke. Intense sherry notes, leather, tobacco, plums, raisins, and smoke.
Palate
Sweet, sticky and dirty. Port reduction, bramble jam, dark chocolate truffles, liquorice blackjack sweets, cough syrup, burnt ends, coal tar, crepe bandage, inadine surgical scrub, Black Forest gateau, medjool dates, tiramisu. Smoky and sweet, with forest honey and dark dried fruits.
Finish
Long and gentle, with notes of coffee beans, sea salt and peat smoke. Lanolin, ash, honey, lemon, wood, and a very light spicy note. Long-lasting and sherry-influenced, with syrupy and spicy tones.
