This travel retail exclusive Octomore was aged for 5 years and was distilled from barley peated to an incredible 208 ppm. It was matured in American oak bourbon casks before being enhanced in Syrah wine casks from France's Rhone Valley. Nose
Intense soot and ash with citrus, dry wood smoke, and hints of freshly baked bread, supported by stony notes, seaweed, brine, and vegetal green peppers.
Palate
Oily, thick, and rich mouthfeel with caramel, ashes, and fruits. Sweetness of wine, berries, and tropical notes, alongside spicy wood, gentle sea breeze, and dry smoke. Red fruits, strong orange, and ginger are also present.
Finish
Long and lingering with ashes, wine, caramel, and fruit drops on smoky embers. Juicy and slightly drying with warming notes of stewed fruits and sugar-coated nuts, and a tannic ash from the Syrah.
