Description

Spey 12-Year-Old is a masterfully crafted single malt Scotch whisky, inspired by the vibrant red hues of autumn in the Cairngorms. It is matured in a combination of American oak bourbon barrels and select sherry casks, offering a harmonious balance of fruity richness, floral notes, and smooth complexity. The extended 120-hour fermentation process adds depth, revealing layers of blackcurrant, plum, mint, and toasted oak. It has a radiant ruby red colour and a long, elegant finish.

Nose
Enticing aromas of honey and grape, with delicate hints of citrus, freesia blossoms, and Earl Grey tea. Hints of banana and custard followed by red flowers and raspberry jam, and a handful of orchard fruits.
Palate
A rich balance of blackcurrant, candied plum, cool mint, and toasted oak. Milk chocolate and toasted almond, with notes of red grape appearing. Malty with typical sherry notes, oak, sweet fruits with vanilla custard and a nuttiness.
Finish
Long and elegant, with lingering hawthorn, fresh grass, and a subtle coffee bean warmth. Blackcurrant jam and tinned pear linger. The malt and sherry carries on, finishing a bit short and slightly bitter.
