The toasted oak and vanilla sound appealing, though the oak seems like one part of a broader character rather than the main event. Juicy tropical fruit and sweet buttery popcorn lead the description, with light earthy notes adding a different edge. That balance sounds more interesting to me than an oak-led whisky.

The nose’s juicy tropical fruit alongside sweet buttery popcorn gives this a lively opening, while the palate’s vanilla and toasted oak bring a rounder counterpoint. The finish is described as lingering and complex, which gives the fruit and oak-led character room to continue rather than ending abruptly. That balance of richness and a drawn-out finish makes this a warmly appealing single malt on the evidence provided.

A lingering, complex finish sounds quietly convincing.
